dang! I love this cover art so much!
Good morning, blog followers! I’m up to 22 of ya’ll now, and I am THRILLED! 😀 ❤ have I talked much about my personal life? I mean, clearly I love books, reading, and writing. 😀 have I talked about my day jobs or anything though? I honestly don’t remember.
Anyway, to pay the bills and for editing for my stories, I work two day jobs. One’s a cashier at an Adult Store (lol. that is so fun to tell people, because no one ever expects me to work there. I’m pretty shy and quiet in my everyday life, so people are always amazed that I can work in a place that requires talking about sex. :’D) The other job is a very early morning stocking crew member at a Dollar Tree.
I love stocking because it’s early morning so the store is closed. There’s only a few people (social anxiety sucks. too many people and I can get really overwhelmed and freaked out.) but my favorite part of stocking?
I can listen to audiobooks while I work. 😀 it’s amazing! 4, 5, sometimes 6 0r even 7 hours of getting to listen to audiobooks, one of my favorite ways to read. (the other is physical books. :D) And i get paid! what could be better?
well, making enough off my books to write full time would be great!
but, until then, I’ll keep my day jobs. 😀 especially the dollar tree one. I love getting to read and work at the same time.
Anyway! Today, I listened to Black Crow, White Snow. it’s a epic fantasy novella by Micheal Livingston. It’s about 2 hours and 45 minutes and is wonderfully preformed.
And the story? Amazing! 😀
In a world where women hold all the power and men have barely been an afterthought, an intrepid shipmistress must put aside everything she knows if she is to save her people. Bela is at the helm of the Sandcrow, a ship sent from calm seas to the far frozen north in search of a legendary power that could turn the tide of war. Locked into ice, the Sandcrow is lost. Now, for the shipmistress and her crew, a desperate voyage becomes a chilling struggle for survival against nature, fear, and prejudice. If Bela can lead them to their ultimate destination, will the magic they find be their redemption—or their destruction?
Sounds awesome, huh? it was!
here’s my review!
I loved this so much! It was amazing. It really was. I LOVED Bela and her lover. I loved Tu. I loved the world and the adventure. I loved the ending. I loved watching bela interact with Tu. I sensed the beginning of a romance, and i wanted to see more of that.
the story truly was amazing.
but it was too short.
I wish it was longer. it NEEDED to be longer. The world presented was so amazing and elaborate, but we only got a tiny taste of it. what happens next! I want to know more! do they make it home? how does all that happen in this story change their world? I felt budding romance! Do that grow into something more! I need to KNOW! XD
I’d also love to see more of Bela and Tu’s younger lives, you know, how they got to this point in their lives when we see them in this story. And I’d love to learn more about the Bone Pirate who was mentioned early in the story. And the flying ships.
just SO MUCH was left unexplored. there are so many possibilities for this world, and I want to see them!
highly recommended if you love audiobooks and high fantasy. Or sailing and pirates! I sure do!
Seriously, ya’ll if more books come out set in this world, I will buy them and read the crap out of them. 😀
Thanks for reading my babbling review, everyone! 😀 hope you enjoyed it and that you’ll consider reading/listening to this great audiobook. 😀 Join me back here tomorrow for my weekly writing update.
sneak peek: it’s going really great! 😀 I’m SO looking forward to releasing She Watches You Sleep.
P.S. My story I love the screaming is still free but today is the last day! head over to Amazon and grab it while you can! (It got a five start rating over on goodreads & that’s great!)
happy reading! Love Lennie! ❤
