Saturday Spotlight!

Hi, my dear readers and blog followers! I’ve had a productive day! πŸ˜€ I got some writing done, submitted a new short to amazon, and now I’ve got today’s post. yay! Just a short one, because I have to get up super early for work tomorrow, but I hope you enjoy it anyway~

So! Today is Satuday! Time to feature a new writer! ❀ today’s pick is…

Derek Corney!

Author of…

45183189. sy475

Let’s all just sit here and admire that pretty cover. seriously. I’m in love with the cover. πŸ˜€ He’s only gother one book so far, but after reading several of the review’s he’s gotten on goodreads and amazon, I’m thinking it must be a pretty impressive book. πŸ˜€ And that cover! I need that cover on my science fiction shelf. it’s sadly lacking in pretty covers with aliens on them.

Who wants the blurb?!

Three young heroes and an epic battle to save our planet!

Three children go on a quest to save the world from invasion by the Targ, a warlike people from another galaxy, intent on plundering the Earth for its resources. With help from a friendly alien called Shack-Shack they set off on an adventure that will take them across the far reaches of the galaxy on a mission to save their planet from destruction.

“A strong debut with a clutch of superb characters, Fight for the Blue Planet bodes well for future releases from Corney and is highly recommended.”- Book Viral

Sounds like so awesome middle grade space adventure fun times right there! πŸ˜€ I’m getting a paperback copy as soon as I get some extra money, so I’ll be reviewing this one really soon. πŸ˜€ I finished listening to an audible drama version of Alien: Out of the Shadows a couple weeks ago and It was great. So I could totally do with some more science fiction fun.

Also! An Author bio! πŸ˜€

Derek Corney was born in London but brought up in Hartlepool. One of four brothers he enjoyed reading from an early age. The notion of writing didn’t occur to him until much later whilst travelling the world, working as an oilfield engineer. Visiting and working in places such as North and South America, the Middle and Far East, Pakistan and India gave him the opportunity to observe how man is exploiting the Earth’s natural resources and was a great incentive when writing his novel. The idea of wrapping it up in a children’s novel came from his children and their concern for the environment.

And some links! here’s his website: And his Amazon page! be sure to follow him! And give his book a try if you like science fiction. I know I’ll be reading it just as soon as I can!

Check with me tomorrow! I’ll have another Spotlight and hopefully anew update on my weekly reading plans and writing! πŸ˜€ hopefully my new story will be published by then, so I can share a link to it!

Happy Reading! Love Lennie! ❀
