Happy Saturday morning, my dear readers and blog followers. 😀 I hope everyone is having a great day! I’m here for the first time in forever with an Author Spotlight. ❤ I know, I know. I haven’t done one in a while. But I’m here now.
So! Who’s the lucky author of the day? Today, I’ve picked a recent read/listen for me.
I listened to her Audible original novella You Can Thank Me Later a week or so ago, and it was absolutely amazing. Seriously, I spent the whole few hours I was listening to it about to cry. That’s how emotional it made me. I loved that. I know a books is REALLY good when it makes me that emotional.
Author Bio Time (Thanks goodreads):
Kelly Harms is the author of The Good Luck Girls of Shipwreck Lane and The Matchmakers of Minnow Bay. She has also worked with New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors, Edgar, RITA, and Agatha award winners, and Indie Next List Picks in her time as an editor at a division of HarperCollins and later as an agent at the Jane Rotrosen Agency. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin with her son Griffin and puppy Scout.
She has a puppy. Instant points, because puppies are the very best.
Now! Links and pretty covers time! (I love this part of my Author Spotlight thingy. Do ya’ll like it, or am I boring you? Lemme know!)
This is the one that I listened to! 😀 ❤ I so highly recommend it. And it’s, like, $6 for audible members, so it’s not too expensive. And it’s totally worth it.
A short and sweet listen that’ll leave you wanting second helpings, You Can Thank Me Later follows an unforgettable family over the course of three Thanksgivings.
When the Dickenson clan sits down for Thanksgiving dinner in 2016, it is the last holiday where their tight-knit family will ever be the same. Oldest brother Pete and his wife are expecting their first child. Youngest sibling Sophie is too busy running her restaurant. The Little Plum, to bother with any kind of social life. And middle child Charlie’s happy, uncomplicated life as a midwestern science professor is upended when his wife Annette is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Knowing this will be her last Thanksgiving, Annette asks Sophie to look after Charlie after she’s gone. Which would be a lot easier if Charlie didn’t show up with an insufferable new girlfriend at the next holiday meal.
From the best-selling author of The Overdue Life of Amy Byler, this heartwarming novella embraces the spirit and gratitude of the holiday, and shows how a family’s love can endure everything.
And this next book just sounds like so much fun! 😀
Overworked and underappreciated, single mom Amy Byler needs a break. So when the guilt-ridden husband who abandoned her shows up and offers to take care of their kids for the summer, she accepts his offer and escapes rural Pennsylvania for New York City.
Usually grounded and mild mannered, Amy finally lets her hair down in the city that never sleeps. She discovers a life filled with culture, sophistication, and—with a little encouragement from her friends—a few blind dates. When one man in particular makes quick work of Amy’s heart, she risks losing herself completely in the unexpected escape, and as the summer comes to an end, Amy realizes too late that she must make an impossible decision: stay in this exciting new chapter of her life, or return to the life she left behind.
But before she can choose, a crisis forces the two worlds together, and Amy must stare down a future where she could lose both sides of herself, and every dream she’s ever nurtured, in the beat of a heart.
She also has a book coming out next years, which you can pre-order now on Amazon. 😀 It’s on my wish-list.
As one of the most popular influencers on social media, Mia Bell has lived her life online for years. With her celebrity dog and gorgeous fiancé, she is planning the ultimate virtual wedding—expensive, elaborate, and entirely paid for by sponsors. But off-camera, her world is far from picture perfect. After being jilted by her fiancé and faking her nuptials to please her sponsors, Mia finally has had enough. She heaves her phone off a cliff, ready to live—and maybe find love—offline for a change.
Mia’s sudden absence doesn’t go unnoticed, especially by techie loner Paige Miller, who hacks Mia’s account and begins impersonating the internet celebrity. Paige has her reasons. Her half sister, Jessica, idolizes Mia and desperately needs something to believe in. If taking over Mia’s online persona is Paige’s only means of connecting to her sister, so be it.
Creating a like-worthy life is more fun than Paige expected. But when she grows too bold and is caught in the act, a fiasco ensues that could forever change Mia, Paige, and the people who love them. Because somewhere amid the chaos is an invaluable lesson—one that only real life can teach.
Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed the post and check out Kelly Harms’ books. 😀 I’ll try and be back tomorrow with another Author Spotlight.
Happy Reading! Love, Lennie! ❤
