Hi, everyone! I took a bit of a break from blogging. The holidays got the best of me. But I’m back now. With a new year’s goal of posting regularly. 😀 ❤ I’m gonna try my best!
So! For my first post of 2020, I thought I’d share my review of the first book I finished this year. A Horror Novella by my Facebook friend Samuel Gali. 😀
Kill Once, Die Twice
It’s a zombie story! I really like zombies. 😀 Here’s the blurb:
Zombies. Suspense. Thriller.
It’s a Horror Novella.
The creation of New Era Scientific Equipment brought about a new era to the world. The equipment mutated a man, Michael Casey, and when he was murdered, it caused an Apocalypse; men began to live in colonies and forts, and the creatures of sheol, called Zoms, outnumber the humans, called Norms. Among these colonies, a band of survivors arise, and unknowingly begin a journey to put an end to the apocalypse and cut the era short.
The death of Michael Casey, causes a major rift in the timeline of the universe, and divides it into two eras;
The Norm Era and the Zom era.
I finished it earlier today, and I give it…
It was fun. And it has a cool cover! better than any zombies I could come up with. Here it is! And it’s also a link to the Amazon page, so be sure you check it out. 😀 You can read it for FREE if you have a Kindle Unlimited membership. 🙂
Now for my review! I’m sharing it on Amazon and on Goodreads. 😀
This took me so long to finish! Not because it was bad, but because I’ve been super busy with the holidays. 🙂 My sister’s been visiting me, so I’ve been a bit focused on her. 🙂 She’s my favorite person ever!
Anyway! It’s my first book review of the new year, and I’ve very excited. 🙂
So what did I think of the story?
I liked it. 🙂
It’s not my favorite zombie story. (That will always be “Mountian Man” by Keith C. Blackmore.) This was still fun though.
I really enjoyed the first part of the story where we first see the compound of survivors. And the ending was very exciting. My very favorite part was when we got to see the journal entries. Those felt very real. Like an actual teen/young adult wrote them. I also really liked how the zombies came to be a part of this fictional world. That was very interesting, and a first for me. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. I won’t give it away, but it’s really neat.
A few sentences felt a bit awkward. But it is a first book, so I’ll forgive it. It’s okay though! There were some very good sentences in there too! 😀
This one is my favorite:
“Perhaps hell is such a bad place that even demons don’t want to go there.”
That’s a good one! 😀
I look forward to reading more from Samuel! 😀 ❤
I’ll be back tomorrow with another review I think. 😀
Happy Reading! Love, Lennie! ❤
