Time for some reviews! ❤ I finished two today, so I’ll be sharing my reviews for both of them. 🙂 And they’re both horror books! So, bonus points for me! ❤
First up is…
Dead Lake by Darcy Coates
|Love the cover!|
I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by Darcy so far. It’s obvious why she’s such a popular horror writer. So what did I think of it?
Here’s my review for it. I also shared it on goodreads.
|I didn’t like it as much as “Ghost Camera” or “The Haunting of Ashburne House.” But I still found it to be an enjoyable story. It was very atmospheric. Very creepy and mysterious. I really liked when the main character, Sam, had a conversation with the radio guy. That was one of my favorite scenes. And I really liked the painting parts.|
But I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the decisions Sam made. She was just sort of dumb.
So three stars. Not an over the top amazing read, but still fun. The narrator did a decent job in the audiobook version.
Recommended for fans of ghost stories, horror, and the author’s other books. 🙂
And the other book I finished was that flash fiction collection I’ve been working on
Shallow Waters Vol 1
The cover is an awesome skull thing, and I love it!
I give this one…
I’m a huge lover of Flash Fiction, so I had to try this out. And I’m so glad I did! I enjoyed almost every story, and I found some that were so good I have the whole book 5 stars. 🙂
I think my favorite story was the one about the grey city and the guy saying “You’re pretty like butterflies.” That story, man. That freaked me the hell out and I loved it. I also really liked the guy who swallowed stuff. That was neat.
Highly recommended for my fellow horror and flash fiction fans out there!
Thanks for reading my reviews! I hope you liked them! I like writing and sharing about the books I read and how my writing is going. Even if only a few people read it. 🙂 I love ya’ll! Happy Reading! I’ll try and be back tomorrow! Hopefully I’ll have some free books to share with you guys! 🙂 if not my own, then I’ll totally share some neat horror books I find. There’s always something interesting and new popping up when I search Amazon for free horror stories.
Love, Lennie ❤
