Hello, readers and blog followers! How’s everyone doing? 🙂 I’m okay. Though, I did realized the other that if I loose one or both of my day jobs, or even just can’t go to them for a couple of weeks, because of all the social distancing, I’d be screwed, so that’s fun.
Ugh. Isn’t adulting fun? I need to work on my emergency fund!
Anyway! Ya’ll don’t want to hear about that. That’s depression! I’m sure you’re much more interested in a happy post. I don’t have a review or much of a writing update to share this morning, so I figured sharing about the books I’m currently reading would work too. 🙂 Anyone want to see my list? 🙂 No?
Oh, well! I’ll share anyway. ❤
So, I’m first book is my audiobook. Are you surprised? I love them. I listen at least a few minutes everyday and always have one going when I’m driving or at my stocking job. 🙂 So much fun!
My current listen is….
Follow You Home by Mark Edwards
The page-turning psychological thriller from the author of #1 bestsellers The Magpies and Because She Loves Me.
It was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime, a final adventure before settling down. But after a perfect start, an encounter with a young couple on a night train forces Daniel and Laura to cut their dream trip short and flee home.
Back in London, Daniel and Laura vow never to talk about what happened that night. But as they try to fit into their old lives again, they realise they are in terrible danger—and that their nightmare is just beginning…
What am I thinking of it so far?
I’m only about two or three hours of listening in so far, but I’m really liking it. The mystery is the best, and I keep listening and listening, because I just have to know what happened to Daniel and Laura in that house in the woods.
The House in the Woods… That sounds like a good book title, doesn’t it. Or maybe: Don’t Go Into the Woods. 🙂 ❤ I’m adding them to my list of potential title and story ideas. I have losts of them.
I should finish Follow You Home in the next few days, so I’ll be sure and share my final thoughts of the story with ya’ll.
And my other currently reading book is a physical novel:
Robinson’s Dream but Mark Lages
Robinson Cahill is a writer. His wife, Martha, is an attorney, and the two of them have a problem. Their nineteen-year-old son has gone too far, committing a serious crime. Robinson and Martha learn about the crime, and they’re not sure what to do. They decide it would be prudent to sleep on the matter before talking to their son. Robinson goes to bed that night and falls into a dream odyssey of thought-provoking memories and fantasies. This remarkable novel-length dream spurs his subconscious wisdom, becoming the inspiration behind the words he has with his son the next day.
I’ve only just started it, so I can’t really say if I’m liking it yet or not, but I’m a big fan of the other books by Mark Lages I’ve read. Scowl. King Clown. Arcadia. 🙂 They’re all great, so I’m sure I’ll like this one too. ❤
Also, doesn’t have anything to do with the actual story, but I love the cover. Isn’t it pretty?
Anyway! Thanks for reading! I’ll be back soon with another post, hopefully reviews of these two books and a long overdue update on my writing and publishing. Camp Nanowrimo is just around the corner, and I have some very, very big plans for it! ❤
Happy Reading, everyone! Love, Lennie! ❤
