Hello, readers and blog followers. 🙂 It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Honestly, I’m just really bad at keeping a decent schedule for this things, aren’t I? Ugh. What can I say? Adulting is hard. It’s not a very good excuse, but it’s true.
I have a couple of short horror stories I read recently, and I thought you all might be interested in them. 🙂
The first one is…
Pretty When You Sleep: A Creepy Little Bedtime Story
This thing is short, (because of course it is! I love reading short stories!) but boy is it terrifying! Seriously. I was so, so creeped out by this.
My rating: 5 stars! 🙂 My review for Goodreads was super short, just like the book. 🙂 Short, but completely terrifying. Just my kind of story! 🙂 See? That was the whole review. I was super tired when I wrote it, so it didn’t get very complex did it? But really, it is so worth a read! And it’s only $0.99! You’ve got a dollar to spare, right? ❤
Heck, while you’re at it, grab a few of my books too! I have a cat to feed! ❤
I also read another short story. This one was only about 994, so it’s technically flash fiction. And ya’ll know I love flash fiction!
This one was….
A Charming Neighbour
It’s free on Amazon right now, which is always a plus! Who doesn’t like free stuff! ❤ I won’t give anything away, since It’s only about a thousand words, but I will say that I loved it. Maybe not as much as “Pretty When You Sleep” but this was still great.
My review from Goodreads is once again, really tiny. Just three words, in fact: I loved this! Is that weird? That sometimes I only do a few words on book reviews? I can’t help it. I do a lot of my reading right before bed, and I get really tired. I do work two day jobs after all. 3 if you coun’t writing, which totally counts. But sometimes, I’m just too tired to right much more than a very basic thought.
Doesn’t mean that I didn’t love the heck out of it. Just that I need a more manageable sleeping and working schedule. lol.
Thanks for reading! I’ll try to be back soon with more reviews and other bookish stuff, but no promises! Happy Reading! Love, Lennie! ❤
Time for a review, everyone. 😀 ❤ more specifically, yet another review from one of my favorite writers, my dear friend, Alan Austin! today’s read:
here’s the blurb! 😀
Hot young virgin daughters, sisters, and students all have a need for something dirty! They need to be satisfied, filled, stretched, and broken for the first time and they know who they want to meet those needs!
First time, step fathers & siblings, teachers, broken, stretched, forced, voyeur, threesome. So many situations to explore with these fertile young virgins!
Very mature and graphic content. 18+ ONLY.
It most certainly is for mature readers! No kids around here! 😀 what’s my rating?
here’s my review! Posted here, amazon, and on my Goodreads page. 😀
It wasn’t my favorite Alan Austin book, but at this point, I’ll read anything Alan puts out. He’s one of my favorite writers now! 😀 especially if it’s a paperback. I adore physical books. (And the tiny ones alan and several other amazon indie authors release are the cutest things ever! I like cute things and I need them for my collection!)
I liked it! the short stories in this book were lots of fun. I really liked the first story, about the sleepover. And the last one about the girl and her professor was very hot. 😀
I wasn’t a huge fan of the camping story. I was a little distracted by thinking, “god! there was a bear out there! are ya’ll really gonna get it on when there’s a bear nearby!” lol.
but still, it was a fun read. I think I like the stories with more character development though. three stars is still nice though. 😀 Its a must read for a dedicated fan. 🙂 I’m reading everything by Alan! And if ya’ll like erotica, you should too! 😀 And get all his paperbacks, even all the tiny ones. they’re great.
anyway! If ya’ll like sexy fun reads, be sure to check this and Alan’s other stuff out. 😀 He just released the complete collection of his Immoral series. I can’t wait for the paperback of it to come out! ❤
Happy Reading, everyone! I’ll be back tomorrow with more fun reading and writing stuff! (Hopefully! I’m not great at posting everyday. but hey, has anyone noticed that I’m getting better. lol)
Hey y’all! Check me out! Two posts in a row! getting back in the swing of things! 😊 I’ve got two shorts to share with you today! My thoughts on The Book Addict by karlin Perrin, and Inmoral Desires by Alan Austin. 😊 Cause you know, he’s one of my favorite writers!
5 stars! I really liked this one! It reminded me a lot of Alan’s Becoming My Daddy series, which, as you all know, I freaking adored! 🙂 I’m a lover of erotica now, thanks to that series! 🙂 Anyway, Inmoral Desires starts off a new series featuring a dissatisfied house wife & a sexy dance teacher. Simple yet very fun! Claire was a super relatable character & I loved her!
Chris? Her husband? Ugh. He can go shove a pinecone up his arrogant butt! Give me more Tony please!
I’m very excited to read the rest of the series! Book Four just released! ❤️ I have to wait until payday though for new books .
Woe is me! Anyway, 5 stars! Y’all should definitely check Alan’s stuff out!
Another 5 stars for this one! 🙂 Not an erotica book. Nope, this one is a romantic short story. I loved it! I read the author’s other story The Book Boyfriend and I had to get this one too. I got the Kindle edition of them both, and the paperbacks.
Because tiny paperback books are freaking adorable! I needed them in my life! See? I’m not the only one who publishes tiny paperbacks of my shorts! Alan Austin and Karlin Perrin do it too! 😊
Anyway! This sweet romance is a sort of sequel to the book boyfriend, following the book loving sister. 😊 It was cute and great and I loved it. Going to book convention/signings? That’s my jam! I LOVE that sort of thing, so I’m going to like a book that features such things. 😊
Karli’s stuff is a must read for romance fans. I Know I am! Funny as it seems, lol, since I write so much creepy stuff. But hey, what can I say? I like both!
Thanks for reading! I’ll be back tomorrow with another review! Something horror related, I promise! 🙂
Hello, all my followers! ❤ Time for a writing update! 😀 First off! My wonderful friend Alan helped me spruce up my covers for Flashes of Fear! Check it out!
Is that amazing!? He’s a great dude! I did the skull and the stormy sky part. ❤ mixed some stock images and made a pretty spicy cover, but I’m not to goof at fonts. He fixed it up and TADA! Looks so much better than the basic font I had! He even did covers for All the rest of the volumes, so I am beyond thrilled! ❤ favorite internet friend! ❤ ❤ ❤
And While I’m talking about Flashes of Fear: Volume #2 is up for pre-order! It drops Saturday! ❤ It’s covers not as cool, cause Alan made me new covers after I had set the pre-order. But I’m putting the new cover on just as soon as Amazon will let me!
Remember, I’m doing a new volume every week until halloween!
Here’s the link to Flashes of Fear #2! Pre-order today!
In other news! She Watches You Sleep’s cover is fixed now, so it all should fit properly. I’m making a finally few edits tomorrow then resubmitting it to KPD. See? It’s coming, I promise! It’s taken forever, I know, but I’m working on it, I swear! I hope it’s worth the rate.
And if it’s not? Well, at least I finally got it up!
I’m also working on Tori Elliot’s next release. And I’m working on new covers for most of my books. 😀 gonna make everything extra awesome! ❤
I’ll be back tomorrow with some reviews! Happy Reading! Love Lennie!
Hi, readers, fans, and blog followers! 😀 How ya’ll doing? 😀 I’m good! Finished reading a new story today! It was awesome sauce! 😀
I’m All Alone and It’s Getting Dark
I picked up my e-book copy for free during an promotion, but you can grab it for only $0.99! Please, spend a dollar! Support Authors! Have a creepy adventure!
A suspenseful thriller that will give you chills.
The sun is setting, leaving you in the dark. You’re home alone and the babysitter is missing. Shadows claw and grab at you at every turn, but there’s more than just shadows in the house.
Sounds good, huh? And it was!
😀 I give it 4 stars!
the writing is amazing, and it really feels like it was told from the point of view of a little kid. the way the writer discribed the shadows and monsters was truly creepy, And it was great! also, take a moment and enjoy that cover! So awesome! ❤ I can’t say too much more without getting spoilery, but I loved it! So if ya’ll like short horror stories as much as I do, I highly recommend this one!
Hey ya’ll quick review before I go to sleep! Don’t worry, I’ll review Hotel Z tomorrow!
Check it out, everyone! Alan made new covers for his stories! Isn’t this beautiful? I love it! ❤ Where’s my Erotica fans at? Cause this series is a great pick for ya’ll! 😀 I don’t read much erotica, but Alan Austin is changing that! Very invested in this series now! 😀
I loved book 1! But what did I think of this book!
Official rating is…
but stupid Amazon and goodreads won’t let me do half stars, so I gave it a nice average 3 on both of those. that doesn’t mean it was bad! I liked it! I really did! 😀 Writing is really good and the details for the little interactions between Mr. Edward and Abby are great.
but that water park part? Boring! I wanted more Mr. Edwards and Abby! Anyway, here’s the review I left over on Goodreads/Amazon:
My office rating is 3.5 I wish Amazon and Goodreads had an option for half stars!
I really enjoyed this second installment of the becoming my daddy series. The begging part was fun. & I loved the ending part where Abby babysat again.
I found the water park part SUPER boring though. I wanted more interaction with Abby & Mr. Edwards. Not a bunch of giggling 18 year olds goofing off at the park.
But other than that, I liked it. I look forward to reading volume 3! 🙂
So, not my most elegant review, that one. But it is getting Late where I am. past my bed time, lol. And I typed it out on my dying phone, so it was a bit rushed. but it’s all true. 😀 I’m back on my laptop now, so my blog post’s a bit longer, lol.
Again, not my favorite installment in the series, but fun! I am totally invested in it now! I’ll be buying volume 3 super soon! So, be ready for a review of that. (Just be ready for a whole bunch of erotica reviews!
😀 Anyway, join me tomorrow for a FREE BOOK FRIDAY and a review of Hotel Z. 😀 And an update on that pen name I’ve been talking about it. 😀
Be sure to go check out his Amazon page and pick up a couple of his books to try! I highly recommend this series, but his parody short is great too! (I’ll do a review of that one soon!)
Hi, My readers! 😀 hope everyone is having some super fun bookish adventures. 😀 I have the day off from my two real jobs (writing is a job too, I just don’t get enough $ to do it full time. Some day!) So, I’ve been working on my writing, sharing some links on Facebook (basically the only Promotion I can afford right now), and now I’m doing so blogging.
lol. clearly, right?
Anyway! I took a break and read one of this week’s short stories selections. I picked A Slave’s heart, because It sounded really fun, and it was short. I love me some shorts. 😀
my rating? 3.5 stars! here’s my rating. 😀 I also shared a quick little review of it over on my Goodreads page. 😀
😀 I liked the story. It was good! Well written and interesting. 😀 The details for the clothing were really nice. And the waterfall scene were great! ❤
I just wish it had been longer! It was really good as it was, don’t get me wrong. I just would have loved more time to get to know the characters, setting, and culture. And I’d have loved to have seen more conflict, to have seen our two lovers grow closer over time.
Still, it was fun! 😀 I definitely recommend it if you like short stories and historical and interracial romance stories. 😀
If Ms. SilverRain ever decided to do a longer, more detailed version of this, I would SO be down for it! hint, hint! ❤ it’d make SUCH a great novel! especially if there was a paperback version of it. I adore physical books! ❤
Thanks for reading guys! be sure to check this one out if your a romance fan. I am! (funny considering how messed up some of my own writing is. Lol. I love the screaming Disturbed my sister/editor so bad, she refused to go into a pet store with me. lol.)
Be sure and join me tomorrow for a writing update post! 😀 Happy Reading, everyone! Love, Lennie! ❤
I’m back with another blog post for Sunday! ❤ Don’t worry. It won’t be too long, I’ve got to go to one of my day jobs soon. BOO! I want to write full time!
Anyway! I just released and brand new story! 😀 😀 😀 I’m very excited for it. but I didn’t have the $ to professionally edit this one, so if you see a mistakes in it, let me know and I’ll get around to fixing it sooner or later. lol. I need like a whole week off work so I can go through all my stories for typos.
Cover time! it’s also a link to amazon, if you wanna download a copy! ❤
I know it’s not She Watches You Sleep, but I really wanted to get a story out to get back on my weekly release schedule! She Watches You Sleep is coming soon, I swear!
anyway! Who wants to see a few of the stories I plan on reading/finishing this week!
here’s some of the covers!
those are my short stories I’ll be working on. 😀 I’m also hoping to King of Scars I’m listening to it on audible.
If I finish any other stories, I’ll review them, too. But for now, I’m going to focus on these 4. Someday I’ll read all the books I own! Someday!
lol. Join me tomorrow for a book review! Which one will it be? 😀 IDK. you’ll just have to wait and see.
Hi, everyone! It’s Sunday, and you know what that means! 😀 A new Indie Author Spotlight! 😀 I really like doing these, so I hope everyone enjoys reading them! 😀
Today’s author has one of the most interesting Pen Names I’ve heard in a while. Which is awesome! Since it really grabs your attention! 😀
today’s spotlight featured writer is…
She writes stories with multicultural characters, interracial romances, and paranormal romances. ❤ ❤ ❤ love me some romance especially with some bits of paranormal thrown in. (Is it embarrassing to admit that I actually like twilight? lol)
And I love her Pen Name! Just LOVE it! Sounds like something from a fantasy novel, and I do so love me some fantasy novels! Who wants to see an Author bio? 😀
Mahogany was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and has been writing for most of her life, everything from poetry to stories for children. In 2007, she published her first children’s book MY RAINBOW FAMILY, under the pen name of K.R. Vance.
As a woman of mixed heritage which includes Haitian, Creole and Choctaw Native American, she blends multicultural characters into her stories. She was inspired to write interracial romance due to her own interracial marriage to her husband who is Dutch and Italian. She began writing in the romance genre in 2008 and is an avid reader of Laurell K. Hamilton, Ann Rice, Rae Lori, D. Renee Bagby, J.K. Rowling, and Charlaine Harris.
She currently lives with her husband and two of their six children, including the family’s pets of three sassy cats and one silly, but lovable German Shepard in Warner Robins, GA.
YAY! ❤ I automatically like anyone who likes J.k. Rowling, cause I’m a Harry Potter fan myself. (I have four different sets of the books & plan on buying more.) & Six kids!? Impressed! I can barely remember to water the plants on my porch. lol.
So! I bet ya’ll are wondering about some cover pics? ;D My favorite part of my spotlight feature, because book covers are art, I tell you!
A short historical romance story. Captain William James is a private slave trader from Britain. He has transported many Africans from the West African coastline to work in the sugar plantations of Barbados and Jamaica. That is until he meets Sirene, a West African priestess whose drum walk (dance) calls to him one cool summer night. He is enchanted by her beauty and strength as he watches her dance, but can she capture his heart and free his mind of ignorance and prejudice against her people?
This one was FREE, and it sounded cool, so I downloaded it. 😀 Love me some free stories.
And I just had to share this cover, because this model is beautiful. Lol. Want to go get some coffee, pretty book cover lady? ❤ also, the story sounds super sweet!
blurb: A short but sweet paranormal holiday story… (Revised 2019)
Myra has put all her passion into being a bio engineer after being betrayed by love. Thanksgiving holiday is a time of renewal and healing for her, the ties of family are strong and nurturing. When her brother invites a friend from Japan to spend the holiday with them, Myra is astonished to learn they share the same career and an instantaneous attraction. As she fights to resist this handsome stranger’s allure, he determines she may be the woman destined for him. If so, he will be forced to share his secrets and gain her trust.
and last cover! Shapershifter story time!
A shapeshifter on the run meets a beautiful park ranger. Sparks fly between them, but will he be able to trust her with his secret and his heart?
Joseph Blackhorse doesn’t trust humans. He and his tribe of animal shape shifting shamans are known as “The Shadow People” among the Crow and Arapaho tribes. They are hunted by the government who seek to use their power and magic for it’s military. Unable to hide any longer among the Crow tribe in Montana, they seek a new home in Wyoming. Joseph’s family wants him to choose a mate so that the bloodline can continue, but he has yet to find anyone among their tribe. When the worst blizzard Wyoming has seen in years hits, the family take refuge inside a national park. They encounter Kendra Jones, a park ranger on duty and she discovers their secret. Joseph likes Kendra, but he can trust her with his heart to keep his family secret?
Sounds fun! It’s only 38 pages, but it comes in a tiny paperback form! ❤ ❤ I love tiny paperbacks! (clearly, since so many of my own books are tiny paperbacks. lol)
she has paperbacks, ebooks, and one audiobooks out, so a bit of something for every kind of reader!
you can follower her over on Amazon and Facebook. And be sure to check out her books! Download a free one and give it a try! And don’t forget to leave an honest review! 😀 us authors can always use a review.
Hey, everyone! I’m back with a brand new book review for you! No free books right now, so I’m doing a review instead. 😀
4 stars for this one!
here’s the cover!
And the blurb:
When David Patzpowski takes his breakfast at a motorway diner, he discovers the clientele to be a little on the strange side.
The story was free on Amazon. And it was only 11 pages. I automatically had to download it and give it a try.
For a gal who’s trying to juggle two jobs, writing & editing, a blog, and work on a debut story under a new pen name, I REALLY love me some tiny short stories.
I can finish a whole story while drinking my morning coffee and feel very accomplished by adding it to my goodreads reading challenge. 😀
plus, as a writer of lots of my own shorts, I’m particularly fond of scary short stories.
It was totally worth the free download! 😀 Short and Simple, but it packed a punch. It was entertaining with just a tad of creep factor, especially towards the end there. Our main character had a strong personality, and the writer managed to get a surprising amount of characterization and backstory into a very short tale.
highly impressed! 😀 ❤
I also highly recommend this story if you like short horror tales. I grabbed another one of the author’s stories while I was at it, so I’ll be reading that one really soon. 😀 Can’t wait!
❤ ❤ ❤
And for those of you who were paying close attention: yes! I am working on new stories for a new pen name. Lol. They’re going to be a rather big step away from my dark and spooky works under Lennie Grace. So I’ve decided to publish them under a new pen name. To help keep my own works more organized, and because I’ve read a few articles on how it’s a good idea. People simply scrowling through Amazon will be more likely to pick up books/stories from indie authors who focus on one or two genres verses one who jumps all over the place.
which makes sense you know? How interested who you be in reading, say, a cozy mystery by someone who usually publishes science fiction. You’d probably be a bit confused by the sudden change huh?
Lol. not that I’m doing cozy mysteries or science fiction. those were just examples. 😀 Don’t worry, guys! It won’t be a huge secert or anything. I’m sure I’ll post about it on here when I get my debut story back from editing.
And I’ll defiently be sharing links in my Facebook groups. (Gotta advertise somehow, right? dang, I wish I had more of a budget for promotion!) The different pen names are simply away to help me keep my works more organized. Also, I really like the name I picked out. It sounded pretty!
but I’m not telling you about my OTHER Pen name I have planned. That one WILL be a top secret. lol. Some of the stuff I have planned for the 3rd pen name are honestly a little embarrassing.
it’ll be fun trying to keep accounts seperate for all three.
Thanks for reading, everyone! I’ll be back tomorrow with an Author Spotlight! Happy Reading! Love, Lennie! ❤
